DLRNG Designs is my hobby turned small business. I make hand-painted birthday and bridal sashes and sell them on etsy.com, an online marketplace. What was simply a friend's request for a 21st birthday sash (because I was the only "artistic one" in the group) then turned in to one of the primary ways I supported myself financially during college and initially post-grad. Being involved in the sorority world meant that word traveled fast about my sashes, leading to sometimes up to 7 sash orders in one week. When I had completed 70 sashes, I decided it was finally time to take it public and open an online shop rather than just word of mouth and social media efforts. This big change allowed me to rebrand what was then called Sashes & Stickers, into the new and improved DRLNG Designs.

The Story Behind The Name

When people ask where I get my creativity, my answer is always from my Baubles. Growing up, she kept scrapbooks containing all of the most important memories in our lives. Each page was always themed for the event with stickers and specialty paper. The older I got, the more I started to appreciate her talents and started my own journey of experimenting with hand-made goods. When deciding what to name this little artistic alter-ego of mine, there was no name more fitting than "Darling," one of the nicknames my grandma had for me. To give it a twist, I decided to shorten it to DRLNG to compliment my personal branding of KNDL Design.
